So, job-wise.
I'm working for a legal firm downtown that goes by about a dozen different names. The pay is good (for an hourly job), the work is not exceedingly difficult (confusing, yes. somewhat menial, yes. but not too hard, at least once I get the hang of it. whenever that will be.). It is, however, a lot of work (my hours are, starting tomorrow, going to be 7:30-5:00ish), and an hour long bus ride on either end. And it is exhausting. I didn't know sitting at a desk could be so exhausting, but it is.

Plus, I never get to see my woggy. I leave before he gets up. Every night of the week is a game night for one or the other of us, so I saw him for about 15 minutes yesterday before he left, and was in bed before he got home. It is the sad. Tonight is supposed to be shadowrun, but I really really don't have the energy to go. And I really really want the chance to actually talk to my boy.

In summary, work is good to have, good to have money, good to get out of the house. However, it consumes far too much energy for just sitting at a desk and talking to people all day.

two packages pizza crust: $1
half pkg cheese: $1.25
half can pizza sauce: $1
half pkg pepperonis (yay "managers specials"): $1
various veggies: $1.50

royally screwing up the pizza trying to transfer it from the pizza paddle to the pizza stone: very aggravating

Blarg. Accomplished none of today's must-dos. All lists on hold until my brain can function in graeter capacity than just sitting on the couch watching Woggy play Kingdom Hearts. What was a minor throat tickle on Sunday expanded to sneezy/coughy/sleep 3 hrs of every 5 being sick. Boooo.

So I actually did all of the things on my "must do" list yesterday! Well, the house isn't ~clean~, but it's cleaner than it was. I feel quite accomplished. I'd been feeling guilty about not applying to jobs for the full 20 hours a week I'm supposed to, and I think it was manifesting itself in the fact that I still don't have a job. So more applying this week!

And I have my own car now! I can theoretically drive places I want to go whenever I want! This really hasn't sunk in yet, but I'm sure it will eventually. I'm still pretty freaked out by the concept of driving at ~all~, let alone driving in ~my~ car.

Today's must-dos:
- Apply for jobs, 4 hrs (aiming for 9am-1pm)
- Call the NDK Mariot to reserve our room (the online thingum is confusing)
- Walk to the UMC, get cash + quarters
- Walk to Safeway, buy milk and bread (shoulda bought these when I was there yesterday, didn't think of it)
- Pay Rent!
- more housecleaning, as per usual
- Shadowrun tonight, hopefully Paul talked to someone about his character issues...

Want to-dos:
- attempt to bake bread again!
- email Carlie or something, ask around on how to throw a birthday party >.

Lazy weekend was lazy. Good, but lazy.

Plans for tomorrow:
Joann's trip: lightbulb for my sewing machine, buttons for shirts, white thread, look for kappa sashes
CAR! Grandpa's coming to get me at 10:30 to go to all the relevant official people places
PPRM trip
At least 4 hours of job applying. For reals.
urg I think my brain is ooziing out my ears. 4 hours is a long long time! Especially when reading through 230 postings at Lockheed (and applying to the 50 or so relevant ones one at a time) because they feel disinclined to make the titles related to the job, and their "apply to many at one time" button broke *glares* but I did it and I didn't cheat on my time at all today!
Adfgjk HOUSECLEANING. *glares at living room*

Such an exciting life *sigh*

Also, small things:
Figure out rooms for convention
Thank-you letters
Paypal?
Trip to bank, get quarters -> laundry
Start looking for sublease-er

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

I HAVE MY DRIVERS LICENSE FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And I never have to do the road test again, I hope >.< It was incredibly stressfull, and I missed a whole bunch of points for not being more obvious about looking around at intersections *grumps*

And soon I shall call up my grandparents to talk about how soon I can get my CAR! (Grandpa's giving me his old car as a graduation/christmas/birthday/yay-for-you present, since he and Gramma really only need one car anymore :D)

I am celebrating this achievement by TOTALLY not following my pledge to eat healthily, and having my leftover icecream from last night's Coldstone run for breakfast. But I'm celebrating the end of 8 years of being terrified of driving! I think that deserves a little ice cream :D

WHEEE I AM SO UNREASONABLY EXCITED!!!

And also, it is only 10AM and I already feel like I'm focused-out, so there is NO WAY job applying is happening right now, even though I'm supposed to do it in the mornings. I shall go play SimCity instead, and apply to jobs later. As well as the usual cleaning/sewing stuffs.

ETA: Bah. Gramma and Grandpa's other car is having issues so they want to hang on to "my" car for a while yet. However, Mom pointed out that Sister's car is still here, and if I need to drive somewhere they can bring me that car for a while...

Today:
4-hrs job applying
Resume Critiques by Employers: 1:30-4:00, UMC 235
MUCH housecleaning (at least 2 hrs - the kitchen is a DISASTER. And I need to get the rest of the house nice for possible showings too)
Sewing!
Would be highly beneficial if I could find some time/place to exercise, all this sitting around the house isn't doing me any good...

Phone is essentially dead: I left the charger in Vale when we were visiting Paul's family there. Because I NEVER leave there without forgetting something, usually something quite important.

Graphic Packaging, who wanted an entry level mechanical engineer with six sigma knowledge (I think you're looking at about the only one) called me yesterday (I missed the call) asking me to call back to set up a time to have a phone interview.

PHONE IS ESSENTIALLY DEAD.

Phone charger is in the mail, but will probably not get here til next week.
*panics*

I'ma going to go see if I still have that car-phone charger down in the car, and if I need to I'll make it while plugged into Katie! (the car)

In the mean time, I've gotten no less than TWO emails from unspecified companies (maybe the same? Maybe total fraud?) asking me to call them to confirm an interview spot for like, TODAY. For an "Account Executive". The wording on them is like, identical, and theoretically from different people, and neither lists the company at all. Plus they ask to come there for different interview days. And what on earth is an "Account Executive" anyways. It's creepy enough that I think I'm just going to bin them both, but then I feel guilty about turning down interviews.

Today's goals:
Get all my campus paperwork sorted out:
Band scholarship letter (Diana)
Engineering scholarship letter (mailed)
TA December Timesheet (Dr. Luftig, Applied Math office)
GRE Report to Larry
CAETE followup
Call Graphics Packaging to set up the phone interview!!!
(Took like 4 calls before I caught the lady in her office, but I have a conference call tomorrow at 1:30!)
All the Kappa robes finished except the black ones, and possibly the blindfolds.
Clean the house! (people are coming over tonight...)
4-hrs of job-applying

ETA:
Car phone charger was indeed there! I have a charged phone again. And considerably numb fingers from sitting out in a cold car for an hour.

[Current Mood |chipperchipper]

1st day of unemployment/unstudentness: fairly successful actually!

Item 1: Band scholarship
All straightened out! Got the money today :D

Item 2: EMEN 5043
I went in to do the paperwork + hoops and stuff to take it... and the canceled it. I can still take it as a "library" course (it's all taped every semester anyways) if the prof. agrees to proctor me through it. He's pushing me to put off taking it til summer when they offer it for real again. I wanna take it now! And so that's what I told him. Results pending (at least I got all the paperwork done excepting the one page the prof. has to sign! and they don't make me pay for it on the spot *cheers*)

Item 3: Walking
I walked around campus bunches, both for my bureaucratic wranglings and then later with Paul. Plus I walked to Sunflower to buy salad nummins. I was healthyish today! Excepting dinner, where I succumbed to the Papa Johns ad >.<

Item 4: Job Hunting
Job-hunted for 3 hrs. My dad was right, it's exhausting work. You wouldn't think so, with it just being sitting at a computer clicking and typing, but it is. First plan of attack is going back through my inbox and following up on all the job-leads in there. Will aim for 4-hrs again tomorrow. Plus, I did 3 loads of laundry while working on this :D Need to fold.

Item 5: Sewing
Haven't yet >.> But I still can work on that tonight. I also got a list from Sean about what absolutely needs to be done by next week, and that is very useful.

Item 6: Attending class
Is not happening :-( But now I got to sign up for raid! Am waitlisted, though.
